I recently watched a live session for writers who feel stuck. Three ladies shared their writing routines as well as what they do when they have those stuck moments. The common reason I picked up between them seemed to stem from questioning their ability and worth. As I listened to them share I found a common ground, fear. Fear has different ways of impacting us, but it paralyzes all of us nonetheless.
God gave each one of us a message that He wants to be shared in a way only we can share it. Ephesians 2:10 reminds us that we are God’s handiwork and that we were created to do good works that were prepared in advance for us to do.
Satan knows this, he knows the exact works you were given and how powerful the impact of those works will be when used to bring glory to God. He breaks your spirit as well as keeps the message from those in need.” quote=”If Satan can keep you paralyzed with self-defeating thoughts he gets a two for one bonus. My fear is one that I have carried for as long I can remember. I freeze when believe that I am stupid. I will feel lead to share and then I hear that serpent asking me if I really know what I am talking about. It takes me back to the words on the cover of my 9th-grade math book, ’remedial’. Boneheads as we were called by our peers.
We are in a battle for our mind and our message. God gives us an armor that can get us through our fears. Ephesians 6:10-17 reminds me to “be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.”
Satan uses ‘flaming arrows’ to defeat and discourage us. We need to take up our shield of faith.
When I am stuck I can claim His victory. I find bible verses that address my fear of being stupid and it gives me the courage to write and speak. “With God, we will gain the victory and he will trample down our enemies.” Psalm 60:12
Don’t go into the battle of today without being prepared, “take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”
