Why should God Bless us? Why shouldn’t He bless us?
God’s desire to bless us is not, nor has it ever been, the issue. God wants nothing more than to bless us. We are the one’s who make it complicated. If getting blessed was as easy as rubbing the genie bottle allowing an idly waiting God to be released, then our faith would be based on what we could get out of it.
My salvation in God is secure, but I have a responsibility to let what God has planted in me grow and reflect His character.
As a child I would sing ‘this little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine. All around the neighborhood let is shine. Hide it under a bushel? NO. I am going to let it shine.” As I got older those words seemed only to be a childhood memory. My opinions and my thoughts started penetrate my heart deeper than His Word did.
In Ephesians four Paul urges us to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which we have been called. We have been called to let your light shine, but we often cover that light with our behavior. Paul continues to tell us what we need to take off the old behavior in order for the new behavior to “fit” if you will. How can I put on a new robe when I am still wearing a trash bag.
Being a woman God can bless is a desire that my guest Sharon Norris Elliott wants to empower us to be. She explains that we are definitely bless-able, but often we take ourselves out of alignment with God’s blessings.
“Being a woman God can bless is when we realize and respect God’s position and then put ourselves in the position to be blessed”. Sharon Norris Elliott
In this episode she will share the message from her book 𝘼 𝙒𝙤𝙢𝙖𝙣 𝙂𝙤𝙙 𝘾𝙖𝙣 𝘽𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙨 based on Ephesians 4:17-32. We explore your identification with or participation in:
What To Take Put On & What To Take Off
- Speaking edifying words vs. corrupt communication
- Truth-telling vs. lying
- Exercising restraint vs. anger
I know you will be blessed by Sharon’s down to earth advice, humor and huge heart as she challenges us to invite the Holy Spirit into the circle as we have the hard conversations. To be willing to abandon everything that does not line up with the Truth of God’s word.
